Woman in the Oghuz group Turk heroism legend

In the thesis called ?Women in the Heroism Legends of the Oghuz Turks?, the roles of the women in the epics of the Oghuz Turks, their position, function, the sociocultural structures that determine these and how the epic narrator uses this in order to educate, direct and entertain the audience have been tried to be studied in general. The thesis consists of nine parts including the introduction part. The characteristics of the anthropological method; Malinowski?s and W. Bascom?s studies on the topic; how the women in the epics of the Oghuz Turks have been studied with the functional methods have been given.In the first part, the function of mothers in the family and society, the ideal mother, the conciliatory attitude of the mother, her wisdom, her tenderness, her role in the bringing up and the education of the child, respect to mother, mothers of the negatory type of heros, stepmotherhood and the topic of being a mother-in-law have been studied.In the second part, the role of the women as a wife, the love bond between the spouses, the role of the woman as a warner and leader, her authority, her heroism, the reasons for conflict between husband and wife, the topics of slander to woman and mourning have been studied.In the third part of the thesis, the characteristics of the ideal spouse, love, marriage by eloping, arranged marriages, letting your daughter marry, being betrothed while still an infant, marrying someone else?s wife or fiancé, marriage between cousins, and the topics polygamy and fellow wives have been studied.In the third part, the role of the women in the epics as daughter and wife; in the fifth part the reasons why men despise women; in the sixth part old women and witches; in the seventh part female servants and slaves; in the eighth part symbols and cult related to women (deer and hunting, horses, vineyards, water) have been studied.In the conclusion part a general evaluation has been carried out.
