The relationship between the quality of schools' space and the quality of teachers' work life

In this study; It is aimed to determine the perceptions of the teachers working in public high schools regarding the quality of space of the schools where they work and the perceptions of the quality of work life and the relationship between them, and to determine whether the quality of the space of the schools predicts the quality of teachers'work life. The research, designed in the correlational survey method, was carried out with the participation of 446 teachers working in public high schools in the central districts of Diyarbakır and Batman in the 2020-21 academic year. Data were collected with the Quality School Buildings Scale and the Quality of Work Life Scale. In the analysis of the data of the research; descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis techniques were used. According to the results obtained from the research, teachers are generally partially/somewhat satisfied with the space quality of the schools. In general, teachers' perceptions of work life quality are moderate. It has been determined that the perceptions of the teachers participating in the research regarding the quality of the space of the schools and the quality of work life differ statistically significantly according to some independent variables used. A high level of positive correlation was determined between the space quality of schools and the quality of work life. In general, teachers' perceptions of the quality of space in schools are a positive and significant predictor of their perceptions of their work life's quality.
