The effect of organizational citizenship and organizational culture behaviors on burnout ( A study in Vocational Schools for Girls, an example of the European Side of İstanbul)

The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of organizational citizenship and organizational culture behaviors on the burnout levels of the teachers working in Vocational Schools for Girls. For this aim, 285 teachers from 10 different vocational schools were selected as convenient and interviewed. During the interview, the participants were asked to answer to Machlach Burnout Inventory, School Culture Inventory and Organizational Citizenship Inventory. The Obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS 17.0 statistical package program. The analysis was performed by using One Way Analysis of Variance, Tukey Post Hoc Analysis and Pearson Moments Product Correlation Coefficient. According to the findings, the main headlines were as follows; it was found that there is a statistically significant correlation between Masclach Burnout Inventory scores and duty culture, support culture, achievement culture and school culture. Also, School culture subscale scores has been found no effect of emotional burnout of teachers. Additionally, hospitality and gentlemen ship scores was not found to be statistically different among teacher who have different levels of emotional burn out. Based on results, it was concluded that, teachers who are not happy, feeling burnout and lower level of self confidence, unlikely show commitment to their organizations, organizational citizenship behaviors. Based on those findings, necessary recommendations were given to academicians and professional in the area.
