Abstract (EN)

Augustinius, philosopher of the First Age, explains that "time" is most known think during any conversation, but when definition of time needed, it's unknown and not comfortable term to indicate. Time which is also in scope of philosophy, mathematics and physics, in literature it exists by time-perception of the works review period or by reflection from authors mind.In the novel, time examined in four different categories: Case time, Telling time, Writing time and Reading time. Nowadays novel includes different perception of time in it because influence of postmodernism and also with support of scientific developments. In meta-fiction texts, Narrator's text may refer to Reading time as case time and telling time mixes. Such texts attempt to remove the boundaries between writing time and telling time for letting reader to feel like the text is forming right that moment. The reason of such complicated time understanding in postmodern novel is the time basis of postmodernists. According to postmodernists, time is a human creation, arbitrary and uncertain. In today's Turkish novel, time perception is changing with influence of postmodernism. From now on time formed to an existence which cannot be determined, indefinite, relative, cyclical, non-chronological. We are observing that time is constructed differently in books of Orhan Pamuk, Hasan Ali Toptaş and İhsan Oktay Anar rather than traditional novel's time. We can say that time understanding of postmodernism influence those novelists in different rates. Keywords: Time, postmodernism, postmodern novel, Turkish novel
