Investigate and compare questions in year 9th, 10th and 11th classes? physics textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) during 2000-2008 period and Physics questions asked in the University Entrance Examination (ÖSS) in the same period by using context analysis to analysis program targets and target behaviors according to the cognitive domain of Bloom Taxonomy

In the study, a total of 1227 questions in three textbooks and 192 physics questions asked in ÖSS between 2000-2008 were analyzed. According to results obtained from the investigation; while %87 of 1227 questions in the textbooks belong to knowledge, comprehensive and application levels requiring lower cognitive skills, %13 of these questions belong to analysis, synthesis and evaluation requiring upper cognitive skills. It has been determined that %57 of 192 questions asked in the ÖSS require lower level cognitive skills such as knowledge, comprehensive and application steps, while %43 of these questions require upper level cognitive skills such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation steps.
