Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the role of students' grades, genders, school types, family integrity, how many screens are being used, their online and offline gaming, the content of the games, the types of the games on digital gaming addiction and tendency to violence. In addition to these, correlation between digital gaming addiction and tendency to violence was examined and tendency to violence and digital gaming addiction -whether they are enough to be explanatory for the discrimination between violent based and non-violent based games- were investigated. Sample of the study is formed by 336 students (176 female, 161 male) through convenience sampling. The mean age of the sample was 16.4. Personal Information Form, Digital Gaming Addiction Scale and Tendecy to Violence Scale were used as data collection tool. As the results of analysis, it is found out that male student's tendecy to digital gaming addiction is higher than those female ones. It is also found out that there is positive significant correlation between digital gaming addiction and tendency to violence. Furthermore, the students who play online games have higher levels of addiction to digital gaming than those who play offline games.
