The relationship between high school teachers' perception of instructional leadership and teachers' motivation: The case of İsparta province

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between high school teachers' perceptions of instructional leadership and teacher motivation. Relational survey model was used in this study. The population of the study consisted of teachers working in different types of high schools in Isparta city center in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample consisted of 393 teachers who voluntarily participated in the research from schools selected by simple random sampling. Personal information form, Instructional Leadership Behaviors Scale, Teacher Motivation Scale were used to collect data. SPSS program was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics, t-test, anova, correlation, simple linear regression tests were conducted. The results obtained in the research are as follows: When the results of the analysis are examined, it is seen that there is a statistically significant, moderate and positive relationship between the participants' perceptions of instructional leadership and their perceptions of motivation. When the correlation analysis was analyzed within the framework of sub-dimensions, a similar situation was found. Although the relationships between the sub-dimensions vary from time to time in terms of level, they are statistically significant and positive. As a result of the findings, it was determined that the participants' perceptions of instructional leadership and motivation did not differ significantly according to their age, gender, educational status and managerial experience. It was determined that the participants' perceptions of instructional leadership did not differ according to the professional year variable, but their perceptions of motivation differed within the framework of the said variable.
