Abstract (EN)
In this research, it is aimed to examine the book published for the science course by the Ministry of Education taught in 7th and 8th grades in the 2022-2023 academic year and the science course curriculum published by the Ministry of National Education in 2018 in terms of scientific process skills. This study was evaluated through document analysis using 7th grade and 8th grade science course books and evaluation forms developed for the curriculum. In addition, the compatibility between the science curriculum and coursebooks of 7th and 8th grades was determined through the chi-square test. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that there was no significant relationship between the scientific process skills included in the curriculum and the science process skills that the activities and questions aimed to measure in the physics units of the 7th and 8th grade course books. While the ratio of 7th grade science course book physics units to include experimental skills is approximately 20%, it is seen that approximately 6% of the curriculum aims to measure experimental skills. In addition, while the ratio of 8th grade science course book physics units to include experimental skills is approximately 17%, it is seen that approximately 10% of the curriculum aims to measure experimental skills. This situation was seen as the reason for the incompatibility between the book and the curriculum. According to this result, it is suggested that the activities and questions in the 7th and 8th grade science textbooks and the experimental process skills in the science curriculum should be increased in harmony with each other.
