Secondary school administrators' knowledge management comptencies ( Examples country Bağcılar )

The purpose of this research is to analyze secondary school administrators' knowledge management competencies. A non-experimental quantitative research design was employed utilizing a survey design with a group of 186 school administrators randomly selected 44 public secondary schools in Bağcılar school district in İstanbul. In order to examine secondary school administrators' knowledge management competencies (generating knowledge, sharing knowledge, using knowledge and storing knowledge), "School Administrators' I knowledge Management Competencies Questionnaire" (EYBYSB) by İkram ÇINAR was administered as a data collection instrument. The data were analyzed through SPSS 17 software program. Means, standard deviations, independent samples t-Test, and one-way ANOVA were administered with cut-off point of .05. Findings illustrated that secondary school administrators' perceived knowledge management competencies were moderate level at all dimensions of knowledge management. However, secondary school administrators' perceived knowledge management competencies significantly differed according to their age, graduation, experience of work, administration type, administration year. On the theoretical side, the current study put significant contribution to the research literature. Moreover, on the practical side, the findings are enlightening for policy makers, in that, those school administrators who are more than 50 yeras old, who were graduated from faculty of Science and Literature, who have worked more than 16 years as an administrator, head of deputies should be given information management in-service training.
