The examining of the factors are effective on acquiring of hygiene conscious to middle term students

In the period of babyhood which starts with birth, children, who is just in contact with the members of family, carry out new learnings by being in social life except their communication with family members as they are four or five years old. In this period which is the most willing and open to learning, there are some really important habits which should be gained to harmonized with social life and maintain their life in a qualified way. Foremost among these, there are the habits of cleanliness and hygiene. It is known that the awareness of cleaning and personal hygiene which are made a practice in this period, affect their both physical and spiritual development significantly. Besides this, when societies' level of development is determined, the criteria of cleaning and hygiene are of capital importance. On the other hand, it is clearly seen that the studies are limited. It is aimed to analyze the effect of family, social life field and school in the process of getting them adopt the habit of cleanliness and hygiene and find out secondary school students' attitudes towards cleanliness and personal hygiene in this research. The research's population consists of secondary school students who are studying in Bursa city in 2019-2020 academic year and its sample consists 500 students who are in grade 5,6,7 and 8 in Bursa city, Osmangazi province. As a data collection tool, personal information form and "personal hygiene scale" which has been developed by the researcher have been used. Cronbach Alpha parameter of "Personal Hygiene Scale" which contains 45 questions has been calculated. Necessary regulations have been made as a result of factor analysis. As a result of factor analysis, the number of expressions has been decreased to 34. In scale development process, Exploratory Factor Analysis (AFA), Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Barlett Globality tests have been used. Data have been analyzed in SPSS 21 programme. T-Test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Bonferroni test have been used for analyzing data. In this study, survey method which is a kind of descriptive research has been used as an investigation method.
