Examination of secondary school students's daily life skills and prosocial tendency

This research is conducted with the aim of examining daily life skills and prosocial tendency of secondary school students in terms of various variables and investigate the relationship between daily life skills and prosocial tendecy. Relational model that is one of the quantitative methods was used. Study sample was picked from 402 secondary school students who continue their education in the cities of Ankara and Karabük. The research data was collected in an Google online form environment between 20 February 2021 and 30 March 2021. Data was collected by using "Personal Information Form" and "Life Skills Assessment Scale" and "The Prosocial Tendencies Measure". Data was carried out by analyzing frequencies, independent samples t test, variance analysis, Spearman Correlation test, Pearson Correlation test. In the study, ıt was observed that there was a significant difference between some sub-dimension scores of the Prosocial Tendency Scale and gender, mother and father education level. In the study, it was found that there was a significant and low level relationship between students' daily life skills and their prosocial tendencies. (r=0.389; p<0.05). The daily life skills of secondary school students differ in terms of various variables, and there is a significant and low correlation between their prosocial tendencies and daily life skills (p<0.05).
