Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to invastigate orthopedically and visually disabled persons' self confidence in terms of their body perceptions and demografik variables. Participants consist of 96 imparied persons ( 52 orthopedic- 44 visual ) who live in different cities and they attended either by Google form or e-mail. Participants were given Personal Information Forms to determinate demographic variables. Sexual Self-confidence Scale developed by Çelik (2015) and Body Image Scale developed by Secord and Jourard (1953) and translated into Turkish by Hovardaoğlu (1989) are used. T-test and Regression Analyse are used for data analyses as parametric methods. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis are used as non-parametric methods. All data are tested at 0.05 significance level. According to the research findings, body perception significantly predicts sexual self-confidence in two disability groups. Sexual self-confidence scores of the visually impaired were higher than those of the orthopedic disabled. This difference was found to be in favor of the visually impaired in self-disclosure of sexual self-esteem and sexual awareness sub-dimensions. Visually impaired men had higher body perception than visually impaired women.
