The study on Osmaniye/Bahçe folk culture

In this work, marriage, death traditions and associated beliefs which are Osmaniye province Bahçe disctrict's transition periods, fasts and ceremonies, folk beliefs, folk cuisine, folk profession,verbal history and children games, anonymous folk literature and minstrel literature have been mentioned. In the first part of the work, written sources are used and then the relations between local culture and old Turkish traditions and customs are tried to be found in the light of information taken from the compilation picked up in the local areas. In the second part of the work, products of verse, verse-prose folk literature are mentioned.At the end of each part, form and content of the products are evaluated. Third part consists of minstrel literature.In this part, the lives of minstrels living in local areas are shortly told and examples from their poetry are given according to the topics which they are handling.At the same time, evaluation of their poetry in terms of content and form is done.At the last part of the work, a local vocabulary dictionary is created. As a result of this work, existance of both old Turkish beliefs and structure of culture in Anatolia are identified.Bahçe folk culture has taken today's shape with the effect of Islam religion.
