Abstract (EN)

In the year 1914 Adana (Ceyhan, Karaisalı, Yumurtalık), Kozan (Haçin, Feke, Kars), Cebelibereket (Dörtyol, Islahiye, Bahçe, Hassa) and Mersin (Tarsus) consisted of these sanjaks. With the help of Turkish Constitution in 1921, sanjaks of Mersin, Kozan and Cebelibereket were become states. Due to sanjaks becoming states in 1923, with the proclamation of the republic Osmaniye has become the center of the management area of "State of Cebelibereket". In 20 May 1933 with the law 2197 called "Some Provincial Interest and Law About Merger of the Provinces" the borders of Adana changed again. Osmaniye, Bahçe, Ceyhan and Dörtyol boroughs that are the center of Cebelibereket Province were connected to each other by this law. Again in 1916 Osmaniye that became a city again in the management area also, Kadirli, Düziçi, Bahçe and Sumbas, Toprakkale and Hasanbeyli were in management area too. In this historical process beside the administrative structure that was in unstable area, Osmaniye was in an important center for the intersection of Europe-Asia-Africa. Because of these, the railway of Istanbul-Bagdat and the highway of Iraq-Syria became the center of the roads. Beside geographical advantages, Cebelibereket had loam and because of this it is called Cebelibereket (The Mountain of Fertility). Osmaniye that has unique ethos and traditions has been in the Cukurova's character. At the first years of proclamation of the republic national culture and values were tried to make flourish also with the help of transhumance tradition, Karatepe Mound and Osmaniye Laments hosted "Düziçi Köy Enstitüsü'.
