Competencies of the vocational course teachers whom are employed in special education institutions: Training center of special education, center of bussiness training and center of vocational training

This research has been done for the purpose of determining the qualifications of the vocational teachers whom are employed in the special education institutions (training center of special education, center of business training, center of vocational education) of the Ministry of National Education within the province of Istanbul. As being suitable for this study?s purpose, the scope of this research was constituted by 260 administrative and mainly private class teachers employed by these special private education institutions (training center of special education, center of business training, center of vocational education) of the Ministry of National Education within the province of Istanbul during the 2012-2013 academic years. The survey method was used in this study. A new scale was developed by the researcher to collect this data. During the development of this new data collecting analyzing scale, the adequacies of these teachers, their sufficiency in private education and adequacy in other branches, also the other recourses on this theme have been investigated. This new data collecting scale system of 3 parts, five dimensions and 43 articles had been developed by myself with the opinions of specialists on this branch and also from the book of ?Professional Competencies for the Teaching Profession??. To ensure the reliability of this collective data, the statistics have been calculated with the coherence of SPSS program (Cronbach?s coefficient Alpha) The frequency and percentage calculation have been made to analyze the data of the professional and personal characteristics of the administrative and teaching employees whom have participated in this research. To have been able to determine the competency of these vocational teachers whom are employed at private educations institutions (training center of special education, center of business training, center of vocational education) the arithmetic mean, standard deviation of the 5 sub-dimension of the questionnaire have been set. In order to determine the competency of the vocational course teachers whom are employed in public special education institutions (training center of special education, center of business training, center of vocational education) the independent group test T, test of One-Way ANOVA, as a complementary technical Post-Hoc test Scheffe?s method, Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to test the opinion differences depending to the independent variables of the administrators and teachers whom are employed in these institutions. As a result of analyze a significant relationship between some sub-dimensions are found while no significant relationship are found in others. Results of the analyzing show us that the administrators and the teachers whom are employed in public special education institutions (training center of special education, center of business training, center of vocational education) generally agreed on the opinions based on the professional competencies of the teachers.
