Analysis of financial literacy level of private sector employees: The case of Malatya

Today, the spread of the free market economy has led to the complexity of financial instruments and the diversity of financial products and services, which has increased the importance of information for developed and developing countries. Because while purchasing financial products or services, people with financial skills will adopt a financially restrained attitude that takes into account factors such as quality, security, health and affordability, controls their spending, and directs their savings to the right investment channels. While these people contribute to the effective management of personal finance at the microeconomic level, they also play an important role in the economic growth and development of countries at the economic level. In Turkey, especially after the 2008 global financial crisis, the level of financial literacy of individuals has gained importance. For this reason, many activities and trainings are held on financial literacy. It is organized by the state and independent institutions and organizations to raise the level of financial literacy. It is necessary to increase the literacy and financial awareness of individuals. The aim of this study is to address the points that will be the basis for determining the level of financial literacy and to get effective results, attention should be paid to the topics examined. As a result of the study, an individual's financial literacy or financial education level of knowledge has been helped to understand.
