Abstract (EN)
The effects of the paintings on the cave walls on today's painting art is aimed to investigate in the thesis titled by The Reflections of the Art of Painting of Paleolithic Period on Today's Painting Art. In order to reach this aim, three separate caves were selected and cave paintings were examined. Selected caves are Altamira cave in Spain and Lascaux and Chauvet caves in France. It is brought together by supporting the expert opinions that the cave paintings are different from each other as the ranking of the history, with the kind of instinct and belief of the Paleolithic people who made the paintings. When the cave paintings, many of which have disappeared after natural disasters and long periods of time, have been examined, we can see that they have been drawn surprisingly beautifully, and the folds of the columns of the cave have been used to give a three-dimensional effect. It is surprising that there is no difference between the pictures made in the conditions of that period and the pictures made today. Research was conducted on how these paintings, which were made thousands of years ago, are reflected in today's art of painting, and the artists who continue their works are affected by the cave paintings. The interviewed artists are Alison Dearborn, Hasan Çağlayan, Neslihan Kıyar, Teyjah McAren, Thomas Allen. During the meeting, 11 questions were asked to the artists. Examples of the artists' paintings were shown and their answers to the interview questions were interpreted. The effects of Paleolithic period paintings were sought in the paintings of today's artists, and the importance of the impact of these paintings made in the past period on the creativity of today's painters was examined. Keywords: Paleolithic Period, Cave Paintings, Primitive Art, Contemporary Cave Paintings.
