Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted in the Southeast Anatolian Agricultural Research Institute in 1996, to determine the effects of different sowing dates and nitrojen doses on the yield and technological characters in cotton. The two sowing dates ( 9 May and 31 May) and five nitrojen doses (0, 6, 12, 18, 24 kg/da N) was used in the study. The sowing date was found effective on most of the examined technological characters. Early sowing resulted in the middle thinnes and strong fiber, high ginning percentage, 100 seed weight and fibre index, earlier % 60 boll opening time and sufficient woody branch. Nitrogen doses are effective in the first boll opening time and increas in nitrojen doses, also caused yield increase, it was determined that the lenght of fibre and the number of boll per plant was not affected by the sowing date and nitrojen doses. Key Words: Cotton, Sowing Date, Nitrogen rate, Technological Characters, Fibre Yield.
