Patient care quality and affecting factors in thepandemic process

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the quality of patient care given to patients by nurses working in the hospital during the pandemic process and the factors affecting it. Materials and Methods: The research is cross-sectional and descriptive. The research was carried out with 300 nurses working in Muğla Training and Research Hospital. In collecting the data, a questionnaire form consisting of nurses' personal characteristics, questions prepared in line with the literature on the pandemic process and a care quality scale for nurses was used. Data were collected between 10 June and 10 July 2021. The data obtained were evaluated in the SPSS 24 package program. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, t test, ANOVA test were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: 42% of the nurses were in the 21-27 age group, 79.3% were female, 62.3% were single, 89.7% had a bachelor's degree, 12.7% had a chronic disease, 96.3% worked as clinical nurses, % It was determined that 51 of them had a shortage of personal protective equipment during the pandemic and 18% of them had Covid-19 themselves. There is a statistically significant difference between the nurses' gender, chronic illness, chronic stress, hyperthyroidism, the units they work in, the number of beds per nurse, the time allocated to patient care, the use of sleeping pills and smoking, and the total score averages of the Nurses' Quality of Care Scale. determined (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the pre-pandemic situation, there was no difference between the behaviors of the nurses during the pandemic process and the Nurses' Care Quality Scale total score averages, however, chronic illness and stress, gender, the number of patients per nurse and the time allocated to patient care affected the Nurses' Care Quality Scale total score averages. concluded.
