Abstract (EN)

Objective: Coronavirus caused pneumonia and ARDS primarily. It affected cardiovascular system since its reseptör was ACE2.It has been determined that elevated cardiac biomarker swhich show myocardial damage, had atendency to increase in the course of COVID19, especially in patients who hospitalized, whose clinical condition worsened and who dead.Since coronavirus affected many systems, ideal biomarker which can predict the course of the disease hasn't described yet. We aimed to examine whether elevated cardiac biomarkers are associated with clinical course in hospitalized patients during the COVID19 in our hospital. Methods:We included the patients aged between 18-80, had elevated cardiac biomarkers due to COVID19 and non-COVID19 reasons -without malignancy, renal failure requiring hemodialysis, akut MI- hospitalized in March 2020-March 2022. Complaints of patients applying to emercency department;serially studied hsTrI, CK-MB, myoglobin, BNP values; patients' hystory, adverse clinical events developed during the follow up period obtained from the hospital archieve system retrospectively. Results:We inclueded totally 486 patients confirmed COVID19 (n:286) and ruled out COVID19 (n:210). Presenting with respiratory complaints, having a chronic disease, excess need for the MV and NIMV, elevated values of the hsTrI and CK-MB in death patients were significant statistically in COVID19 confirmed group(p<0,05). Having cardiovascularcomplaints, more elevated hsTrI and CK-MB values were significant in COVID19 ruled out group (p<0,05). The predictive power of demographic and clinical features for myocardial damage evaluated by logistic regression analysis and it was determined that COVID19 didn'thave a statistically significant effect on myocardialdamage. Conclusion:Although the development of myocardial damage was significant in COVID-19 confirmed group, COVID19 didn'thave a significant effect on myocardial damage when compared with COVID-19 ruled out. key words: Coronavirus, high sensitive troponin
