Factors affecting the anxiety level of healtcare workers during the pandemic process

This study is a descriptive and cross-sectional study conducted to evaluate the factors affecting the anxiety levels of health workers during the pandemic process. The population of the research consisted of health workers (500 people) working in the hospital where the research was conducted in April-May 2021. No sampling method was chosen and it was planned to reach the entire population. Except for those who were permitted and who had reports, 212 people were reached. The data sources of the study were tried to be collected by the application of a questionnaire consisting of Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS) questions that assess the sociodemographic characteristics of health workers, occupational risks and anxiety severity. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 22.0 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the data. Categorical measurements are summarized as numbers and percentages, and numerical measurements as mean and standard deviation (minimum-maximum where necessary). Among the normally distributed data, one-way analysis of variance was used for the mean of more than two groups from parametric tests, and the significance test of the difference between the two means, correlation analysis was used to compare the mean of the two groups. The statistical significance level was taken as 0.01 in all tests. 66.5% (141 people) of the health worker included in the study are women, and their mean age is 25.83±0.43 (Min:18, Max:57). In this study, it was determined that health workers experienced severe anxiety. Anxiety was found to be higher in healthcare workers who did not have children than those who had children, those with more professional experience than those who had less, those who were considering quitting their job, those who did not think, and those who evaluated their future as hopeless than those who were hopeful. It has been determined that as the age of health workers, the years of working in the institution and the years of professional experience increase, they experience higher anxiety. Studies should be conducted and interventions should be planned so that healthcare professionals with a lot of professional experience can cope with the anxiety they experience.
