Study of the relationship between free time management and quality of life of candidates teachers registered in pedagogical formation

The aim of this research is to determine the relation between the free time management and quality of life of the prospective teachers participating in the "Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program". Therefore, relational screening model has been used in this study. 516 graduate students registered in the "Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program" opened at Gazi University Faculty of Education compose the sample of the research. As a means of data collection in the study, "Free time management scale" developed by Wang and et al. (2011) and adapted to the Turkish by Akgül and Karaküçük (2015), "short form of the quality of life scale" developed by World Health Organization and adapted to Turkish by Eser and et al. (1999) and "personal information form" prepared by the researcher have been used. In the analysis of the data, Descriptive Statistical Techniques. Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis tests were used, Spearman Correlation Analysis was used in determining the relation between free time management and quality of life. In statistical analyzes, "p<0.05" and "p<0.01" values were accepted as significance level. According to findings obtained as a result of the research; There was a low positive correlation between the free time management scale, goal setting and method and evaluation sub-dimensions and the quality of life scale, physical, psychological, social, environmental-cultural and general quality of life subscales. There is also a low positive relationship between free time management subscale and physical, mental and social subscales. While there is a low negative correlation between the programming sub-dimension and the quality of life scale sub-dimensions, the free time management sub-dimension and the environmental-cultural and general quality of life sub-dimensions are not related. As a result, there was a low positive correlation between the free time scale and the quality of life scale total scores.
