Abstract (EN)

Today, with the rapid advancement of technology, industrial automation systems have become more important. Products produced in industrial automation systems are used extensively in all areas of life, especially in health, food safety, transportation. Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), which is used in the food sector, is one of the most important systems used to maintain the freshness of food. However, the control of existing processes in industrial automation systems is very important. The oldest known and applied control method is the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control method. The PID controller is highly preferred because it is easy to design and implement and responds quickly. However, most systems in nature are nonlinear and in addition, they cannot be expressed by integral and differential equations of full degree. Often these systems are linearized or expressed in terms of integral and differential equations. Therefore, controlling a fractional order system with fractional order controllers can improve the system response. To find the best control parameters for PID and FOPID applications, Optimization methods such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) can be used. The PSO algorithm mimics the movements of individuals in a swarm for purposes such as food and protection. In addition, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are used in today's industrial automation systems. The biggest advantage of PLC is that control, data collection, monitoring and communication operations can be performed as well as control operations. MATLAB program and its component Simulink modeling software is an important engineering program used in analyzing the behavior of systems in material life. Simulation can be done with the Simulink program, as well as in cases where the system is simulated and the control mechanism is operated in the hardware by using PLC or different hardware. Within the scope of this thesis, it is aimed to implement a fractional degree control application of a HVA system. The parameters of the FOPID to control the HVAC system are determined by PSO algorithm. However, a pre-existing model in MATLAB/Simulink program was used as the HVAC system. The FOPID to be used as the control of this system was simulated on a PLC. The results obtained are suitable for controlling this model with the proposed method.
