Similarities of characters, ideology and life stories of popular culture heroes and heroines and the link of these similarities with the consumer society

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this report is to identify the common properties of heroes in popular culture narratives and put forward the factors that are effective on the emergence of these common properties. For this, effects of capitalism on individual and psychological approaches to individual's identification with characters in narratives are analyzed; religion, patriarchial system and westernism's effects on heroic stories are searched; and the chance in the plot of heroic stories in time is taken into consideration with Lord Raglan's and Joseph Campbell's theories. The report also touches upon the similarities in historical narratives and the reasons of these similarities through adaptations, and after that well known heroic samples of contemproary popular culture are analyzed and similarities are revealed. In the reserach, it is seen that the characteristics, ideologies and life stories of different heroes are too similar because they are getting effected by the properties of the society they were edited in and accordingly, it is a conclusion was drawn which is that for such heroic stories not to repeat the same pattern over and over again and be unique, first a social change should occur.
