Abstract (EN)
The term "post-truth" has come into frequent use in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. This term describes an era in which emotions, beliefs, and personal opinions take precedence over objective reality. In the post-truth era, the concept and perception of reality have undergone profound changes, becoming subjective and having a significant impact on societal perceptions. During this period, the increase in information pollution and manipulation has led people to question their perceptions of reality, resulting in conflicts between different realities. Throughout history, theater has approached its relationship with reality in various ways. In classical periods, theater often reflected an objective reality, while in the postmodern era, it became more subjective and experimental. Postmodern theater is notable for its structures that question the perception of reality and bring together various layers of reality. Instead of traditional narrative techniques and character development, more experimental and fragmented narratives have come to the forefront. Postdramatic theater aims to transform the audience from passive observers into active participants. In the post-truth era, the interaction between audience and characters in theater and the transformation of the perception of reality have become significant topics. Parasocial interaction has been used to explain the emotional bond that audiences form with theater characters. In this context, the relationship between the audience's perception of reality and the characters in theater reflects the impacts of the post-truth era. Theater artists strive to express the complexity of the post-truth era through theater by offering audiences the opportunity to explore different layers of reality. This study examines the effects of the post-truth era on theater and explores how the concept of new reality is reflected in theater, aiming to contribute to the understanding of the complexity and transformation of the relationship between theater and reality. Future research on this topic is expected to continue. Keywords: Post-truth, Realism, Parasocial Interaction, Postmodern Theater, New Reality
