The Art of acting in a postmodern era / Artaud and Grotowski

This thesis handles the problems that the art of acting is facing in a postmodern era. In order to accomplish this first of all postmodernism, its consepts and nature is carefully examined. Then, it is confronted with modernism an eventually outcome of postmodern era presented. Within the scope of this presentation the problems of art of acting are discussed from the wievpoint of solutions of Artaud and Grotowski. Finally, it is put forth that the art of acting has to turn to its origins if it is willing to exist in a postmodern era.
