Analysis of the knowledge levels and opinions of psychological counseling and guidance candidates towards the gifted students

The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of senior students of psychological counseling and guidance department and to examine their view stowards gifted students. The sample group of the study consisted of 104 senior candidates from different universities. "Demographic Information Form", "Scale of Counselor Teachers' Knowledge Level stowards Gifted Students" and "Semi-Structured Interview Form" were used to collectthe data and the obtained data is analyzed with SPSS package software and content analysis method. According to the results of the analyses, the knowledge levels of the students of the department of psychological counselling and guidance about giftedness do not differ according to the universities they study, but they differ according to their gender and the status of taking special education courses. In addition, the results of the descriptive analyses of the scale of knowledge levels about giftedness showed that students of the department of psychological counselling and guidance had high levels of knowledge about the personality traits and individual differences of gifted students, and misinformation and beliefs about giftedness.
