Abstract (EN)
In this relational research, it was aimed to examine the relationship between self-stigmatization, stress level and shame factors, which are thought to affect the attitude towards seeking psychological help, and demographic data. Another purpose of the study conducted with all these factors is to analyze the sample over the Y generation. Within the scope of the research, self-stigmatization scale in seeking psychological help (PSPSS), attitude scale-short form (FAITS-SF) in seeking psychological help (Fisher & Farina, 1995), perception stress scale (PSÖ), (COHEN) , Kamarck & Mermelsrtein, 1983), Embarrassing other-2 (URS) (Matos et al, 2015) was used. The sample of the research was used in the research by selecting the data of the individuals belonging to the Y generation group in the scales distributed randomly with the snowball technique. The sample of the study of 94 male and 311 female individuals selected from the Y generation. IBM SPSS 22.0 program was used in the analysis and evaluation of the data. In the light of the findings of the study, it was seen that shame, stress and self-stigmatization factors in the attitude of seeking psychological help were significantly related to socio-demographic data. It was concluded that shame predicted self-stigmatization. According to the results of the stress, shame and self-stigmatization, hierarchical regression analysis on the psychological help-seeking scale, it was concluded that stress did not predict the attitude to seek psychological help, but self-stigmatization and shame predicted psychological help- seeking When hierarchical regression analysis related to predicting perceived stress scores was performed, significant effects of self-stigma, shame and psychological help-seeking attitudes were noticed. It was concluded that shame scores predicted self-stigmatization scores at a significant level. All these relationships and analyzes were demonstrated in the Y generation sample. Variables selected from the subject of individuals' attitudes towards seeking psychological help provided us with detailed information on the help-seeking behavior of Generation Y. In the light of all these studies, shame, perceived stress and self-stigmatization predict each other, similarly, same relationship is seen between the attitude of seeking psychological help and stress, self-stigmatization and shame.
