Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the reduction or elimination of cisplatin-induced liver damage in chronic white tea-fed rats. For this purpose, 24 female Sprague Dawley rats from 3 groups of 8 were used. Only tap water was given to the control group, white tea + cisplatin group was given 0.5% (w/v) white tea extract drinking water for 4 weeks. At the end of the 4th week, a single dose of 7 mg/kg cisplatin was administered intraperiotenal to both the white tea + cisplatin group and cisplatin groups. At the end of the 5th day, liver tissue and blood samples were taken from anesthetized rats for evaluation biochemical, histopathological and immunohistochemical parameters and kept in suitable environments. Serum AST, ALT values and tissue MDA, GSH values were determined to determine cisplatin-induced cell damage and oxidative stres. They were photographed for histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluation of the blocked tissue samples with necessary staining. When the biochemical findings were examined, significant increases were observed in cisplatin groups compared to the control groups (p ˂0.05). Decreases were observed in white tea + cisplatin groups, although not statistically significant. When histopathological and immunohistochemical findings were examined, apoptic cells, vascular congestion and sinusoidal dilatations were observed in cisplatin groups compared to control group. Reductions in these negative conditions were observed in white tea + cisplatin treatment groups compared to cisplatin group. As a result, we can say that the effect of white tea on cisplatin-induced liver damage is positive. Keywords: Cisplatin, White Tea, Liver, Oxidative Stres, Rat
