Abstract (EN)

The preventive effects of atorvastatin and acetylcysteine in damaged of ischaemia reperfusion when after detorsion of the experimental cecum ascending colon volvulus on the rats. OBJECTIVE: In our study, we performed to assess the impacts of atorvastatin and acetylcysteine in decreasing damaged of ischaemia perfusion when after detorsion of the cecum ascending colon volvulus. METHODS: 28 male-female Wistar Albino rats (250-300 g) were divided into four equal groups used for this study. Cecal-Ascending colonic volvulus was created the by clockwise 720° rotation. At the end of the one hour volvulus time, bowel detorsioned. Group I (n=7) was sham (laparotomy) group, Group II (n=7) was control (notreatment, were volvulus and done detorsion) group, Group III (n=7) was positive control (Asetil Sistein 300 mg/kg İ.P. single dose administered intraperitoneally 30 minustes before the detortion) group, and Group IV (n=7) was treatment (Atorvastatin enjektabl 30 mg/kg İ.P. administered intraperitoneally 30 minustes before the detortion) group. On each group of the rats, blood samples were collected from peripheral veins and centrifuged at one hour after detorsion and then the parameters of ischemia likes malondialdehid, glutatyon peroxidaz, catalase, superoxide dismutase were observed in the serous fluid. 24 hours later done relaparotomy and samples were taken for histopathologic examination. Blood samples were collected by intracardiac punction and the rats were sacrified. RESULTS: Upon histopathological evaluation has been detected lesioning of the organ reduced at the groups which are given atorvastatin and acetylcysteine, but except Sham Group the differences were not statistically significant in respect to necrosis. On the parameter of ischemia, malondialdehid and superoxide dismutase increased at the group of control, whereas reduced at the group of positive control and treatment (p=0,005; p=0,008). In respect of the average of glutatyon peroxidaz was not significant difference (p>0,05), the catalase average of the positive control group is higher than each of the other three groups (p<0,001). CONCLUSION: The results of using experiential atorvastatin is seen similar as the results of using acetylcysteine at intended to damage of ischaemia perfusion when after detorsion of volvulus. Experiments are required is done more comprehensive with the other statins and materials. Keywords: atorvastatin, acetylcysteine, damaged of ischaemia perfusion, volvulus
