Sings in the performing arts: Semiotic analysis on theater posters: Research on Roland Barthes' semiotic scheme

From the past to the present, the point we have reached in research on the place and importance of art as a communication tool for human beings has always been met with great expectation by researchers. Today, while it is seen as one of the communication tools of artistic sign, it is necessary to investigate the most effective and efficient way to benefit from this message. This study has been put forward in order to analyze the performance posters staged at the Azerbaijan Academic National Drama Theater and Konya State Theater with the method of semiotic analysis and to clarify the indicators seen as the language of artistic communication. The study consists of three parts. In the first chapter, the conceptual framework of art and performing arts and the importance and place of the poster, which is considered as a part of it, are given information. In the second part, the interpretation of the sign approach, which is considered as a semiotics and artistic communication tool, by semiotics is discussed. The third chapter concludes with the interpretation of the sign, which we describe as the communication language of art, in the content of the predetermined show posters, using the signification scheme known as semiotic analysis, and the examination of the place reached in the research as a result of the thesis study over the findings.
