Abstract (EN)

The origin of Arabic dialects, despite their various types and geographical regions of presence, can be traced back to a common source: Fusha Arabic. The system of structures and sentences in the dialects is very similar to the system of the Fusha Arabic language, and we may find differences between the dialects in terms of vocabulary, formulas, and structures due to the influence of many factors. In addition to that, there is a connection between the Fusha language and the ancient Arabic dialects, and the local dialects that have descended from them that differ according to Geographic area. This study consists of three chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter contains general information about the history of the Arabs of the Sham and the Arabs of Siirt, and the basic features of the Sham and Siirt dialects. In the second chapter, the phonetic, morphological, and grammatical characteristics in the Sham and Siirt dialects were studied. In the third chapter, the common proverbs and proverbs between the Sham and Siirt dialects were compared from the morphological, phonetic, and grammatical aspects, and the extent of similarity and difference between them was demonstrated. In the conclusion, the results reached by the thesis were mentioned, in addition to a set of recommendations.
