Abstract (EN)

?Financial Dimensions of Economic Development Process in the Context of thePublic Art Assessment? forms the subject of the study. The main objective of this study is toexamine the countries' approaches to art and artistic funding policies by addressing art?ssocial and economic contributions and to demonstrate role and importance of art on economicdevelopment.As a method, a research of the relevant literature was performed and, periodical andnon-periodical publications, leaflets, reports were used. Various aspects of the concepts andart economy are analized with a theoretical framework, public properties of art, the reasons ofgovernment intervention on art, supporting techniques are examined, art supporting models ofvarious countries are evaluated. Art approach of Turkish government are considered in termsof institutional and financial aspects, by examining the Five-Year Development Plans? targetsabout art and tried to analysis objectives and results by data that obtained from Culture andTourism Ministry, Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Finance.All countries in today's economy, strive to bring the cultural and artistic values into theeconomy by supporting art activities. As a term of art economy has been revealed after seenthe economic impact of art and becoming the art as an indispensable tool of economicdevelopment. Art industries which will be implemented through the establishment of culturalstrategies in connection with the economy, ensuring prosperity and development in theproduction offers a creative and innovative environment. In developed countries, level ofartistic services are high and these countries are developing alternative models to support art.
