Heredot, Marko Polo, James Cook, Prof. Kindler Spindler ve Sergei I. Rudenko who were the first people to convey information about primitive tattoos with ancient history. The first traces of tattoos were found in Asia, Africa and Oceania Islands (Marquise, Samoa). Tattoos that we can call historical or primitive; it has a long history in Egypt, Mesopotamia, Algeria, Ural-Altai Mountains, Anatolia, Greece, Austria, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, the Americas and the poles. Today, examples of historical tattoos in Turkey can still be found in some provinces in the Southeastern Anatolian Region. In the Harran District of the Şanlıurfa province, tattoos carriers are more quantitatively compared to other provinces. The most important current factor necessitating greater research on traditional tattooing is; that the remaining bearers of this tradition are at an advanced age and both the tradition and its cultural meaning is in danger of being lost. Since the tradition of tribal tattoing is not being continued widely today, these people are its last representatives. Another important factor; as Mümtaz Fırat cites in his work titled Disappearing Traces, "In addition to the use of similar motifs in tattoos and carpets and kilims, it has been observed that some motifs are named similarly. Among the tattoo motifs: Star, moon, sun, human, flower, tree, spike, gazelle, scorpion, frog, mirror, comb motifs and their naming and carpet-rug motifs bear a common theme. is knowledge". Researching the historical process of traditional tattoos in Turkey, examining the meanings of tattoos and conducting field research of tattoo bearers constitutes the initial stage of this thesis, since it is reported in multiple written sources that traditional tattoos are very similar to the motifs on our carpets and kilims. In the following sections, the history of traditional carpet art is mentioned, and the new face of the carpet, from weaving to digital design, is mentioned, providing the designer with the opportunity to develop new interpretations of the traditional craft, thanks to the technological developments of our age. The advantages of digitally printed mats produced in digital printed systems to the sector and the user, contrary to the limitations of machine-woven carpets, have been examined in detail. In order to better explain the production process of digitally printed mats; digital concepts, color management systems (ICC Profile, RIP software), digital inkjet and digital sublimation transfer printing systems are explained within the workflow. In order to better explain the production process of digitally printed mats; digital concepts, color management systems (ICC Profile, RIP software), digital inkjet and digital sublimation transfer printing systems are explained within this paper. With the ever evolving needs, expectations and possibilities of our age, the fashion trends manifesting in interior design spaces has made mats and carpets become fast consumption products that can be changed frequently. Cheaper and more ergonomic products are being demanded. In recent years, with the developments in printing technology, the diversity of printing types has increased and different types of fabrics have been created. Floor mats, which provide integrity in spaces, take on an important function in creating a different atmosphere with various expressions in the space they are located in, and are undating and improving every day.
