Abstract (EN)

The Holy book of Quran and Hadith (saying and customs of the Prophet), which are the primary sources for İslâmic sciences, were sent down as guidance for mankind to distinguish right from wrong and a means of Salvation. In order to serve as the guide for mankind's searching for the right way, the Holy book of Quran and Hadith primarily need to be understood correctly. It is a fact that words' meanings have changed throughout the centuries. Therefore, it is inevitable to determine the change in these meanings for the correct semantic interpretation. In order to understand a hadith correctly, it will be necessary to know the meaning of specific words in Hadith texts and explain strange wordings, if any. If there is a change in meaning and usage of particular words over time, it will be necessary to determine the meaning of these words or expressions within the historical and language context of those tribes in order to understand the hadith better and correctly. The religion of İslâm is based on knowledge. Its philosophy and offered lifestyle for mankind accept the principle of knowing and living or living by knowing as a baseline. Qutubi Sitte, which is thought as an important contribution in shaping our religious culture, has been one of the major hadith resources that Muslims have respected throughout history. The main aim of this study is to introduce the hadiths in "Kitâb'ül-İlim" section of Qutubi Sitte with commentators' explanations, which meanings they carried in early times, and to determine whether these meanings have changed over time. Key words: Science, the Divine wisdom, Scholar, İslâmic law, Hadith.
