Evaluation of impact of 8 weeks of exercisizing program on postur disturbances in women and quality of life and body awareness

Abstract (EN)
This study was made to investigate life quality, body awareness, posture disorders and how these disorders should be recovered in women. This study group was divided into three groups of 82 patents, 32 of exercise, 24 of posturex, 26 of control, who are risk free related to exercise with no experience of menopouse and were diagnosed with posture disorder by doctor. Pre-and-post study posture curvature was measured by scoliometer, life quality by Short-form 36, which was developed by Rand Corporation (1998) and whose validity and reliability was tested in Turkey by Koçyiğit et al (1998), Body Awareness by Body Awareness Scale, developed by Shields et al (1998) and used by Erden et al (2013) and Pain by Visual Analog Scale. Statistical analyzes were made via SPSS and significance level was assased as p<0.05. After 8-week of exercise, it was observed that there was a significance difference (p<.0001) between pretest and posttest in terms of both curvature degree and study group. A significance difference was observed between pretest and posttest in Physical Function, Pain, General Health, Energy Level, Social Function, Mental Health subscales (p<.0001) and there was no difference in terms of postest in Role Difficulty and Emotional subscales. There was a significant difference among groups in all subscales of life quality (p<.0001). A significant difference was seen in final mesurements of body awareness companents (p<.0001). As a result, exercise group had the highest level of recovery related to curvature degree. Posturex group had more positive changes compared to control group. It was concluded by the study that exercising and use of posturex had positive impacts on posture curvature, life quality, pain and body awareness.
