Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, industrial wastes are one of the biggest environmental problems. With the rapid increase in human population and the depletion of existing resources, the number of research and application related to the production and use of recycled materials increases day by day. The reuse of wastes contributes to the national economy by protecting the natural life and the environment. The road paving industry uses a high amount of natural and finite resources, such as bitumen and aggregates, for construction and conservation of road infrastructures. Recycling of ceramic waste is a critical necessity to save precious aggregates and reduce the use of costly hot mix asphalt. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of utilizing different percentage of ceramic waste (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% by weight of aggregates) as virgin aggregates in hot mix asphalt. The mechanical performances of the samples were evaluated by Marshall Stability test.
