Abstract (EN)

Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy in the world and the third most common gynecological malignancy in Turkey. Although the most important parameter affecting the course of cancer is stage, there are many factors. When we look at the literature, it is seen that studies on the prognostic importance of desmoplastic reaction (DR), inflammatory response (IR) and tumor budding (TB) have been intensified recently, but there are insufficient studies in cervical cancer. In our study, we evaluated 40 cervical squamous cell cancer (SCC) patients who underwent surgery. Age, menopausal status, tumor diameter, grade, stromal invasion rate, lymphovascular involvement (LVSI), lymph node metastasis (LNM), stage and 5-year survival data were obtained. By examining the preparations again; the presence and degree of DR, IR, and TB were evaluated. We evaluated whether the data of the patients and pathological evaluations were related to each other and to the survival. Accordingly, we observed that DR was not associated with any clinicopathological parameters and survival we compared; TB was associated only with LVSI and reduced survival; IR was associated with large tumor diameter and high grade, but had no effect on survival.
