Abstract (EN)
Epic tales (TR: menâkıbnâme) constitute one of the most important genres of Islamic literature. The work that we have examined (i.e., Firdevsü'l-Müşidiyye) is a Turkish translation of the Persian work Terceme-i Menâqib-i Sheykh Ebû Ishâq Kâzerûnî by Şevkî-i Kadim, itself being a translation from Arabic. Not only does the epic tale Terceme-i Menâqib-i Sheykh Ebû Ishâq Kâzerûnî shed light on the Kâzerûniyyah tariqah, it also informs us of the literary life of its translator. The language used in this work is another noteworthy aspect. Our study on this multifaceted work is divided into three separate sections. In the first section, we provide information on epic tales, their characteristics, the Kâzerûniyyah tariqah and its impact on Turkish literature, and Şevkî-i Kadim. In the second section, we discuss the work's orthographic characteristics and grammatical features. In the third section, we have included the transcription of the two copies of the work and indicate differences in these two copies through footnotes.
