Abstract (EN)
160 meters in diameter and 23.5 meters in hight, the Seyitömer Höyük is a large mound 25 kms Northwest of the city of Kütahya. It is located within the bounds of a strip-mining company, the Seyitömer Lignite Works. Though the Phrygian pottery in-situ condition found in the room outside the fortification; inside the influence of 5. and 4. cencury B.C observed. The architectural elements are almost completely destroyed because of leveling the top of Höyük. Because of this devastation, the mixed material found there was not regarded to any architectural style.The Phrygian pottery of Seyitömer Höyük is consist of two groups as painted and monochrome. They are formed as Bowls, Trefoil Jugs, Wide-mouthed with Double-handled Pots, Narrow-mouthed with Double-handled Pots, one-handled Pots, Low-necked Pots, Cups and Spouted Pots.The Phrygian pottery in the museum of Afyon consist of Bowls, Trefoil Jugs, round-mouthed Jugs, Wide-mouthed with Double-handled Pots, Narrow-mouthed with low-necked Pots, cups and Flasks.Eskişehir Yazılıkaya/Midas City finds are Bowls, Pots, Trefoil Jugs and Cups.Eskişehir Midaeum finds are only Bowls and Pots.Unfortunately the samoles of pottery found in Seyitömer Höyük could not be regarded to any architectural tema and could not be given definite dates but once compared with Phrygian pottery, could not be denied that reflecting ). Century B.C Phrygian era till Persians.The examples of pottery found in Afyon and Eskişehir show similarities to the pottery in seyitömer Höyük and other Phrygian settlements, reflect the specialities of 7. and 6. century B.C.Key Words: Phrygians, Phrygian Pottery, Seyitömer Höyük, Midas City, Afyon, Midaeum.
