Investigation of depression, post-trauma stress symptoms and behavior problems of children living in the asylum camps

What makes people and people who have a special place in living things valuable and meaningful is the connection they make to their space. Migration is one of the important factors that weakens the connection between people and space. For various reasons, individuals and communities are leaving their place of residence and migrating to other places. In terms of individual and society, migration not only corresponds to a spatial change, but also changes and transforms the world of meaning and value of the individual and society. In this study; The aim of this study was to investigate depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms and behavioral problems of children living in an asylum camp. Participation in the research is voluntary. The sample of the study consists of 400 children living in asylum camps. To collect data; Personal Information Form, Internet Addiction Test (IBT), Demographic Information Form, Powers and Difficulties Questionnaire (GGA), Children's Depression Scale (CDI) and finally Post-Traumatic Stress Response Scale (PTSRS) were applied. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the children who participated in the study had depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms and negative perception related to power and difficulties. Depression scores and emotional problems (r = 0.697; p <0.01), behavioral problems (r = 0.555; p <0.01), hyperactivity (r = 0.460; p <0.01), peer problems (r = 0.485; p <0.01) and total difficulty score (r = 0.783; p <0.01). As the depression scores of the children included in the study increased, emotional problems, behavioral problems, hyperactivity, peer problems and total difficulty scores increased.
