Examination of sperm parameters of smokers in light microscope level

In this study was conducted on a total of 70 subjects, including 35 smokers and 35 non-smokers. Van training and research hospital were enrolled to study the microscopic and macroscopic aspects of sperm samples taken from individuals who met and approved our infertility criteria applying to the urology clinic. The our aim in this study is to determine if the cigarette has an effect on the semen parameters and so how much influences. The samples taken after three-five days of sexual abstinence were first waiting for approximately 20 minutes. Then the volume of semen was measured and noted. The appearance of color, appearance, pH, length of likefaction and viscosity were recorded and preparations for macroscopic examination were started. Ten microliters on top of the sperm sample and the lamellae were spread and dried in air. The preparations obtained for microscopic evaluation were examined by light microscope with 100 lenses and analyzed base on world health organization rules. In our study, the semen parameters of the non-smoker group and non-smoker group were evaluated and compared in terms of age, mobility, immobility, slow, total sperm concentration, number and kruger. There wasn`t statistically significant difference. No smoking effect was observed on semen parameters with this study. The results are discussed in with literature.
