Harmful and beneficial insect species and population fluctuations of some important species in different types of grapes growing in Siirt province

This study was conducted to determine pest and beneficial insect species of vineyard using three different grape cultivars (Perlette, Hönüsü, and Red Globe) and population fluctutations of some important species. This study was performed in the vineyard area in Kezer Campus of Siirt University between 2017-2018. As a result of the study, 1 species belonging to Lepidoptera; 9 species belonging to Hemiptera; 4 species belonging to Thysanoptera; 1 species belonging to Neuroptera; and 4 species belonging to Coleoptera were recorded. A total of 19 species were determined. Among these species, 14 species are insect pests and 5 species are beneficial predatory species. The species detected during the study were observed in different vegetation periods and at different densities on the grape. Population densities of the species varied with studied cultivars. As a result of the study, variety of Hönüsü was the most preferred by pest species. Red Globe variety was preferred at least. It has been found that Red Globe variety was the most preferred of natural enemies . As a result of the study, Red Globe cultivar was found to be less preferred for pests compared to other cultivars.
