Siverek (Şanlıurfa) Davud Karamanlı house restoration proposal

This study focuses on the monumental buildings in Siverek and especially on traditional residential architecture. The inadequacy of the necessary conservation measures related to traditional buildings and the need to study the original residential architecture in the historical city are the main objectives of the research. In this context, Davud Karamanlı house will be restored as an example and the house will be transferred to future generations as a historical resource. In the first chapter, the importance of the restoration works of Davud Karamanlı house is emphasized in terms of the registered buildings in Siverek, conservation board works and the sustainability of traditional residential architecture. In the second chapter, general characteristics of Siverek (historical, geographical, topographical and geological structure, socio-economic structure) and monumental structures are mentioned. In the third chapter, the information about characteristics of the traditional Siverek houses are given. In the fourth chapter, the location, history and plan characteristics of the Davut Karamanlı House are explained. In the fifth chapter, studies related to the restitution problems of the house and the suggestion of restitution were examined. In the sixth chapter, the restoration approach and interventions related to the repair of Davut Karamanlı House are discussed in depth. In the last chapter, the conservation problems related to the traditional residential architecture in Siverek city and the solutions to the transfer of the building in question as a historical document to the future generations are presented.
