Abstract (EN)

Mood disorder is a pattern of illness that arises from an individual's abnormal mood. 459 students studying at Kocaeli Health and Technology University participated in this research in the 2020-2021 academic year. Participants were informed about the research in advance and participated in the research volunteerly. Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASÖ-21) and a personal information form asking students' grade, age, gender and grade point averages were used for evaluations in the study. SPSS 24.0 statistical package program was used in the research. Independent samples T-test was used for comparison of quantitative data, in case of two groups and for comparison of parameters between groups. In the case of more than two groups in the comparison of quantitative data, the One-Way Anova test was used for the comparison of parameters between groups. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to examine the relationships between year-end grade and mood. According to the findings of the research; a significant difference was found as a result of the T test performed to determine whether the depression, anxiety and stress total scores of the students showed a significant difference according to the gender variable. It was found that female students had higher depression, anxiety and stress levels compared to male students. At the same time, it was determined that the end-of-year grade point averages of female students were higher than male students. It is seen that there is a significant difference in the General Academic Grade Point Averages (GPA) of the students according to the class variable. It was determined that the GPA levels of the second year students were higher than the first year students. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to see if there was a significant relationship between stress, anxiety and depression and academic achievement. The results reveal that there is no statistically significant relationship between students' stress, anxiety and depression levels and their academic achievement.
