An evaluation of the relation between class teachers' characteristic properties and their job satisfaction: Istanbul Kadıkoy district's sample

A person spends most of their life at the workplace, that's why their state of being at the workplace is important. Personality traits and job satisfaction levels are facts to be dealt with fairly emphasizes in this regard. This study was performed to determine the correlation of these factors have been identified as participating teachers. Participants completed by 212 men 190 women. 266 of them were married, 136 were single; 299 (74.4%) of them undergraduate and 103 (25.6%) of them had graduate degree. According to gender and extraversion, internal satisfaction and overall satisfaction scores it showed no significant difference between men and women. Docility, responsibility, experience, openness scores were higher in men than in women. Woman has been identified high levels of emotional instability. When the relationship between personality and job satisfaction levels of marital status is analyzed; peacefulness, emotional instability, openness to experience, internal, external, and could not reach a significant difference to the overall satisfaction levels. Extraversion and responsibility is seen in favor of the single. When job satisfaction and personality traits examined by education level; extraversion, inner satisfaction, it was observed that there was no significant differentiation for external satisfaction and overall satisfaction. Peacefulness, responsibility, experience while opening a master's degree in higher emotional instability is determined higher than the graduated. When job satisfaction and professional experience and personality traits relationship was examined; openness to experience, inner satisfaction were observed that there was no significant differentiation for external satisfaction and overall satisfaction. On the contrary, extraversion, docility, emotional instability of participants who have 1-5 years experience as the highest, while responsibility is highest in the group with 6-10 years of experience. The management style and decision-making capabilities in principal affect the teachers' job satisfaction. Rates of productivity and job satisfaction as the most important part of teacher education will increase the quality of education. This is why increasing the focus on related studies and experimental studies are important. Key Words: Personality traits, teachers, job satisfaction
