As a result of our research, it was seen that social studies teachers put forward many views between the environment and civil society. In line with these views, it is seen that social studies teachers attach great importance to environmental non-governmental organizations in terms of education, awareness and environmental protection. However, they argued that the impact of environmental non-governmental organizations was limited in meeting the grand meanings assumed. The inadequacy of the interaction of environmental non-governmental organizations with the social studies course and schools has been mentioned.
