Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of foot mass and hip measurement on balance performance in athletes and sedentary individuals. A total of 112 male athletes and 110 sedentary individuals participated in the study. On the first day, the measurements of the athletes were taken and the second day the sedentary individuals were taken. Age, height, body weight, static and dynamic balance, foot mass, foot volume and hip measurements were taken from the subjects. As a result of the measurements, in athletes and sedentary individuals between the hip and static balance (r=.416,p<0.001) was found a positive correlation. Between the static balance and foot mass was found a weak positive relationship (r=.298,p<0.001). between negative balance and foot mass was found weak positive level a significant correlation (r==.174,p<0.01). As a result, equilibrium is an important factor that forms the basis of all sports branches. It also has a significant impact on sedentary life. The increase in hip and foot mass has a positive effect on static balance performance and effect on dynamic balance wasn't observed. Key Words:Athletes,Balance, Foot mass, Hip, Sedentary.
