The life of Suleyman b. Necah and the analysis of his work named Muhtasaru't-tebyin li hicai't-tenzil in terms of recital qira'a

This study focuses on the Andalusian scholar Sulayman b. Najāh and his work entitled Muhtasar al-tabyīn li ḥijā'i al-tanzīl. Since the Qur'an was reproduced and sent to different cities in mushafs during the reign of Prophet 'Uthman, these mushafs were called Masāhifi Osmāniyya. Since the spelling structure of the 'Uthman mushafs was considered as a source for the new mushafs to be written, works on the spelling structure of these mushafs were written in the following periods. In addition, the requirement of conformity to the spelling of the Masāhifi Osmāniyya as one of the conditions for the authenticity of the qiraat and the formation of a new scientific discipline called resmu'l-mushaf under the science of qiraat shows the importance of the spelling of the 'Uthman mushafs. Since the early periods, many works on the subject have been written in the east and west, but not all of these works have survived to the present day. Since the works that have reached us are limited in number, it is necessary to examine these works in a broad and comprehensive manner. In this context, the work titled Muhtasar al-tabyīn, which is the subject of our study, has a special importance both because it is voluminous and because its author was a student of Abū 'Amr al-Dānī. As a matter of fact, al-Dānī held an important place in the history of Qiraat and wrote al-Muqni', which is one of the first sources on resmu'l-mushaf. For this reason, in the first chapters of our study, we tried to explain the social factors that emerged while conveying information about the author's life and the period in which he lived due to his Andalusian origin. The main purpose of our study is to examine the work titled Muhtasar al-tabyîn both in terms of Qur'anic sciences and to reveal its distinctive aspects regarding resmu'l-mushaf. On the other hand, to reveal its similarities and differences with al-Muqni'.
