Sources and classification method of Sunan Darimi

Our research consists of introduction, three chapters and conclusion. In the introduction, the subject, importance, aim, scope, method and the sources used in the research are discussed. In the first chapter, al-Dārimī's life is analysed. In the first chapter, the political and scholarly characteristics of the period in which Dārimī lived; in the second chapter, issues such as his social life, hometown, scholarly personality and moral aspects are discussed. In the third chapter, Dārimī's scholarly studies, his teachers, his students and his works are discussed; in the fourth chapter, his theological thought, his understanding of the Sunnah and his jurisprudential views are explained. In the second chapter, the subject of Sunan is discussed. In the first heading, the concept of Sunan is explained; in the second heading, the purpose of composing the Sunan, its not being included in the Kitub-i Sitte, its manuscripts, narration and the studies on the Sunan are analysed. In the third title, the sources of the Sunan, the cerh-ta'dil status of its sources, the distribution of the narrations according to their sources, the tolerance of the narrations from their sources and the common sources with the Kütüb-i Sitte are discussed. In addition, the oral and written sources of the Sunan and the use of sources in the Sunan were also discussed. In the third chapter, the Sunan's classification method and narration analysis are discussed. In the first chapter, the factors that are effective in the classification of the Sunan, the Sunan's mukaddim, chapter headings and bāb headings are discussed. In the second title, the narrations are analysed in terms of source and authenticity. Afterwards, the chapter moves on to the narrations of ḥawāid and sulāsī narrations in the Sunan. At the end of this section, al-Dārimī's evaluations of some hadiths are explained with examples. In the conclusion, a brief evaluation is made.
